It's A Wrap For Tayside Film Commission

Angus councillors have called action on proposals for a Tayside Film Commission.

At a meeting of the Council’s Economic Development Committee (Thursday 15 November), members agreed to support the initiative for a period of three years.

The development of a Tayside Film Commission is a partnership project between Angus Council, Dundee City Council, Perth and Kinross Council and Scottish Enterprise Tayside.

By establishing a commission, it is hoped to make the area 'film friendly' by liaising with film makers on matters such as temporary road closures, access to public buildings, accommodation and local promotion of film activity.

Economic Development Convener Jack Gibb said: "The economic tourism benefits to local economies arising from commercial film/television production are well documented. This project, together with Angus Digital Media Centre will add to the ability of Angus to attract and develop creative industry activities."
