A delegation from Angus’ sister area of Yantai City is visiting the county this week (23 & 24 January, see attached programme).
The six delegates arrive on Wednesday and start the visit with a welcome lunch at Glamis Castle hosted by Mrs Frances Duncan the Provost of Angus, accompanied by other council representatives.
The visit builds on the trade and cultural agreement between the two areas established in 1999. Since then there have been a number of reciprocal visits and a significant number of local companies have established business ventures in China as a result.
The Director of Yantai’s Oceanic & Fishery Bureau is one of the delegates on this visit and he and the other delegates are making a special visit to the Arbroath premises of RR Spink & Son (10am Thursday 24 January). During the visit, hosted by Bob Spink, they will hear of the company’s work to diversify its product range and seek out new markets.
During their short visit the delegates will also visit RGIT MONTROSE, John M Henderson, Angus College and LADCO Engineering in Arbroath.
