Parents Share Tips On Stress

A leaflet produced by Angus parents for Angus parents was launched today (Tuesday 9 May 2002).

The leaflet - Parents Why Suffer Stress? - has been produced by local parents who attend Family Support Groups run by Angus Council. The groups who meet in Brechin and Montrose have recently been involved in a Parent Stress Management Project.

Angus Social Work's Broomfield Family Support Team and Rokpa Dundee Natural Healthcare Team jointly ran the eight-week programme. Angus Health for All provided funds for the project covering the cost of health care workshops, treatments, resource tool kit pack (which all parents received on completion of their programme), and the production of the leaflet.

3000 copies of the leaflet will be distributed throughout Angus to both parents and agencies that work closely with parents.

Launching the publication, along with parents who took part in the project, Councillor Glennis Middleton, Angus Social Work Convener, said: "This is a very informative and well-produced leaflet which I'm sure will prove invaluable to parents who are experiencing the pressures associated with bringing up children."
