£1.2m Housing Investment

Angus Council is embarking on a £1.2m programme of home improvements in Montrose, Arbroath and Carnoustie.

The improvement programme deals with the installation of double glazing at 221 houses in Montrose, 86 properties in Arbroath and 27 in Carnoustie. It also includes the installation of central heating to a further 51 houses in Carnoustie.

Housing Convener Frank Ellis said the work was a significant investment in housing which would greatly improve the council’s housing stock in the three towns.

“I am particularly pleased that we have achieved our targets for the installation of double glazing as this has allowed us to accelerate the programme for central heating and start that work earlier than we had previously planned.

“In addition to the improvement the work will bring to tenants homes, adding to their comfort, it also represents a significant investment in the local economy bringing work to the local workforce.”
