Christmas Past In Kirriemuir

Christmas Past - the festive exhibition at Kirriemuir Gateway to the Glens Museum is now open to visitors.

Among the beautiful toys and vintage decorations on display are yo-yos, a 1956 doll, a Peter Pan annual and many fragile and lovely decorations from Christmas past.

Also in the display is an unusual painting by James Macktinosh Patrick featuring one of Lord Lyell of Kinnordy's teddies and Lady Lyell’s beloved doll Maggot who has also lent her very own, doll-sized Christmas stocking.

Santa will be available in the museum on Saturday 7 December, and Monday (8 December) and Tuesday (9 December) mornings.

As well as seeing the display, visitors to the museum next Saturday (14 December), can drop in between 11am to 3pm and make cards, decorations and gift boxes ready for Christmas. Its free, but very young visitors should bring a big kid or adult with them.
