Arbroath And Area Partnership Inaugural Meeting
The Angus Community Planning Partnership has invited a broad range of Arbroath organisations to attend the inaugural meeting of the Arbroath and Area Partnership.
The meeting, on Tuesday 27 January, follows up on last year’s Focus on Arbroath and Area Seminar, at which a number of priority issues for the Arbroath area were identified (www.angus.org.uk).
Since then a small steering group has been meeting and has developed proposals for a partnership to bring organisations together to work on joint projects. A number of local organisations have already agreed to form the partnership, but the meeting later this month gives others the opportunity to discuss their involvement, with representatives of the public, private, voluntary and community sectors all invited to attend.
Bill Strachan, head of Angus Council’s policy and performance unit said: “Local partnerships have already been formed in Montrose, Brechin and Carnoustie, and are emerging in Monifieth and Kirriemuir, to develop the economic, social and environmental potential of their areas.
“These partnerships follow the principle that by working together the various member organisations can achieve more than when acting in isolation. We’re keen that as many organisations as possible in Arbroath and the surrounding area have the opportunity to find out about the partnership so any organisation that has not received an invitation but would like to attend are asked to contact community planning officer Jacqui McNeill on 01307 473787,or e-mail McNeilJK@angus.gov.uk for an invitation pack.”
