Presence And Absence At Meffan
The Meffan plays host to an exciting range of work by a group of internationally renowned sculptors, printmakers, painters and multi media artists, in its next exhibition.
All the works in the Presence and Absence exhibition explore the multifaceted nature of writing and inscription - poetry, calligraphy, letter carving.
There are wonderful engraved glass objects incorporating visually subtle text, the artist using lettering and the written word as an abstract form over a series of five panels.
The work of Manny Ling explores the formal beauty of oriental calligraphy.
This is a highly accessible and engaging exhibition of thoughtful and unusual objects.
The exhibition opens to the public at the Meffan on Saturday 14 February and continues until Saturday 13 March. Opening hours are 10am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday. Admission is free.
