More Playparks In Line For Improvements
New funding announced by Angus Council brings investment in the county's playparks to over half a million pounds in the past four years.
The council has agreed to commit a further £120,700 to improve safety at 23 playparks in the county.
This is in addition to the £448,000 which has been spent since 2000 - an outlay which has enabled the fitting of safety surfacing at 134 locations and the replacement of 56 items of equipment.
This latest funding, which was approved at a meeting of the council's Environmental and Leisure Services Committee on Thursday 4 March, will mean improvements at a further 23 play parks all over the county.
Environmental and Leisure Services Convener Joy Mowatt said: “I am delighted that another batch of playgrounds have been upgraded under the council's rolling programme of improvements.
“The council will continue to fund improvements at playparks across the county, to ensure that young people have access to play areas which are safe and well equipped.”
