Literary Launch at Kirriemuir Gateway to the Glens
Local author Mary McIntosh's latest publication The Gless Hoose, is launched at Kirrie Gateway to the Glens Museum on Friday 16 April.
Mary McIntosh writes stories and poems, mostly in Scots. Her work has been widely published in literary magazines and anthologies including Caa' doon the Moon (also co-editor), Lallans, Chapman, Northwords, King o' The Midden and A Tongue in Yer Heid.
She has written drama including The Souch of the Wund, a play about the Forfar witches (co-written with Jan Natanson) as well as participating in writing for Grundstane, which was performed in 2000. She has two new poems in the prestigious New Writing 21.
This year, Mary's short story Slow Train has been included in the top twenty authors selected for the anthology of stories for the 2004 Scotsman/Orange competition.
The Gless Hoose is a collection of short stories, all of them written in Scots.
At the launch Mary will be reading excerpts from The Gless Hoose from 7pm to 9pm.
The event is free and is not ticketed.
