Free Central Heating for Anyone Over 80

The current Scottish Executive central heating programme offers free installation of central heating to anyone aged 60 or over who owns their own home or rents from a private landlord, and who currently have no form of central heating or a heating system which is broken and beyond repair.

The Scottish Executive have now announced an extension to this programme to provide a free full central heating system to anyone aged 80 or over, who owns their own home or rents from a private landlord, who currently have a partial or inefficient central heating system.

Surveys and installation will be carried out by contractors who have been approved by the managing agent - EAGA. Grants will not be provided to householders who have organised work for themselves - applications have to be made through EAGA.

If you have a friend, relative or neighbour over 80 who might benefit from this grant please contact the Housing Dept on 01307 461460 ext.3985 or ext.3983, and discuss this further. Alternatively, you could visit the EAGA website for information.
