Way Forward For Forfar

RESIDENTS of Forfar and the surrounding area are invited to a special community forum in the town this month.

Hosted by Angus Community Planning Partnership, the event on Tuesday 14 December will explore the priorities for the town.

The discussion will focus specifically on how to tackle the issues raised by local people and representatives from community planning partner agencies and identify where joint working could be improved.

Forum Chair, Councillor Bill Roberton said the special forum had been called to give residents a chance to take part in planning how to tackle the issues raised and consider the setting up of a local area partnership.

"The special community forum offers people a chance to give their views on how we can work together to tackle important issues.

"We'd like to hear as wide a range of views as possible, so I'd encourage people to come along and have their say.

"Other burghs have decided that a community-led partnership, of local people and representatives from public, private and voluntary sectors, is the way they want to be involved in planning the future of their community.

"This is obviously one option for Forfar but its up to the community to decide if that's the best way forward for them."

The forum takes place on Tuesday 14 December at 7.30pm in the Royal Hotel, Forfar.
