Businesses Urged To Get In Print

Angus companies are being urged to take advantage of a free marketing opportunity from Angus Council.

The council is currently compiling the latest version of the Angus Business Directory and over 2,600 questionnaires are being sent out to companies throughout the area.

Companies who return a completed questionnaire will be given the opportunity to appear in the Angus Business Directory, free of charge.

David Selfridge, Convener of Infrastructure Services, said: "The Annual Business Survey is an important part of the work of the economic development unit.

"It provides the core information for the Business Directory, designed to help its users to find the services, products, and information they need to prosper.

"The increased exposure of the listed Angus companies promotes business growth and development and encourages linkages and relationships between local companies and I would encourage all local companies to take the opportunity to appear in the directory."

From mid-2005, it will be relocated to the new high-profile Angus Portal at www.angusahead.com, which will have more site traffic and provide increased exposure for the listed businesses.

The portal is intended to promote the county, its businesses and attractions, and will give the opportunity for companies to have a direct link to their own websites.

The Annual Business Survey is conducted under the auspices of the Tayside Database Partnership, a joint venture between Angus, Dundee City, and Perth & Kinross Councils and Scottish Enterprise Tayside.

These agencies work in conjunction with each other to provide a central point for the collation and distribution of information helpful to local firms and to promote Tayside at a national and international level.

If any company does not receive a questionnaire, and would like one, or would like more information, please contact Wilma Peter, economic development unit on (01307) 473754 or email peterw@angus.gov.uk.
