Kerbside Recycling Forfar & Kirriemuir Area

12,000 households in the Forfar & Kirriemuir area will soon be part of Angus' kerbside recycling service, getting household waste sorted.

Glamis, Inveraldie, Kingsmuir, Letham, Lunanhead, Maryton, Newtyle, Padanaram and Westmuir are also included in this latest phase of the county's kerbside recycling scheme.

The new system provides households with a GREEN BOX for the recycling of cans, glass, paper & plastic bottles and where appropriate a GREEN BIN for green waste such as coffee grinds & teas bags, grass cuttings and other green garden wastes, and raw fruit & vegetable peelings.

Delivery of the new recycling containers in the Forfar and Kirriemuir area will start later this month but collections will not start until the week beginning 12 September 2005.

With the new green box and green bin households will receive a leaflet with collection dates and other information about the scheme and a sticker summarising the materials collected.

The green box will be collected weekly and the green bin will be collected fortnightly. As households will be able to recycle much of their household waste the collection of the existing GREY BIN will change to fortnightly.
