School Enrolments Reminder
ANGUS parents are being reminded that the enrolment of children for primary school takes place next month.
The next school session begins on Tuesday 15 August 2006 and parents whose children will be five on or before that date must enrol their children by Monday 6 February 2006.
Parents of children who will become five years of age between 16 August 2006 and 28 February 2007, may delay enrolment until the start of the school session in August 2007.
If you decide to delay your child's entry to primary school you will be able to withdraw your child's enrolment application.
Details of the delineated area served by each primary school are available at that school or at the Education Department, and parents should enrol their children at the primary school in whose delineated area they live by Monday February 6.
The next transfer date from primary school to secondary also takes place on August 15 2006.
Parents of children who are due to transfer on that date will have been advised of the school to which they will transfer by letter prior to the Christmas Holidays.
Parents have the right to request a place for their child in another primary or secondary school of their own choice.
Placing requests should be submitted in writing, not later than March 13, 2006 to Jim Anderson, Director of Education, Angus Council, County Buildings, Market Street, Forfar, DD8 3WE.
