Arbroath ACCESS Office Opens for Business
The doors of the Old Parish Church in Arbroath will reopen on Thursday (23 November) when the final Angus Council ACCESS office comes into operation in the transformed town centre building.
The interior of the 19th century Category B listed building is now fully equipped with 21st century technology to provide a single access point for council services in Arbroath.
The ACCESS office is the final one of seven to be created in each of the main burghs of Angus, offering residents a one-stop shop for general enquiries, requests for services and payments for some council services.
The council's bold decision to install a self-contained structure within the original church has resulted in the creation of a stunning office space, with contemporary colours and materials contrasting and complimenting the traditional church finishes.
Lightweight steel trusses enclose the new internal structure with clear polycarbonate sheeting providing views through to the existing church roof, balcony and features such as the pipe organ and stained glass windows.
While the move to the new building is underway there will be some disruption to local payment services so no payment facilities for rent and council tax will be available in Arbroath on Wednesday 22 November. However payments can still be made by telephone by calling ACCESSLine on 08452 777 778 or by using the council's online payments service at www.angus.gov.uk.
The new ACCESS office will open for business at 9am on Thursday 23 November. The usual office opening hours will be 9am - 4.45pm Monday to Friday, except Thursdays when the office will open at 10am to allow for staff training.
The telephone number for Arbroath ACCESS Office is (01241) 434212. This is the new number for rent enquiries, repairs etc and will replace the existing number when the new office opens.
