Have A Fun and Safe Festive Season
HAVE fun while staying safe and healthy is the festive message for Angus people this year.
Angus Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) has launched its festive safe drinking campaign with eye-catching posters going up in licensed premises and other public spaces.
The festive safe drinking notice provides some useful information to help revellers protect themselves, before during and after the party.
Chief Superintendant of Tayside Police Bill Harkins said: "The festive season is a time for lots of parties and socialising but this advice is valuable at any time of the year. We don't want to stop people having fun but want to encourage them to be healthy and safe."
Dr Robert Peat Chair of Angus DAAT added: "This is just one part of a wider campaign to change the way we drink and think about drinking in order to reduce the harm associated with alcohol in our society."
Christmas can be a difficult time for people and some may turn to alcohol to cope, when in fact it can compound their problems.
If you're feeling low, remember that you're not alone. Talking about how you feel is a positive first step in getting help. Breathing Space 0800 83 85 87 is a free phoneline service for anyone who is feeling low or depressed, where they can speak to trained advisors in confidence.
