Roads
During spells of snow and freezing temperatures drivers are urged to take care when out and about and:
- wherever possible, use main routes which are likely to have been treated - but remember while gritting helps prevent ice from forming and existing ice and snow to melt it does not automatically make roads ice-free
- use PUBLIC TRANSPORT wherever possible
- listen to the warnings being given on radio or TV; they are there for your benefit
- try to restrict your journeys to those that are essential and if you have to go out make sure your car has plenty of fuel, your mobile phone is charged and you are dressed warmly, so you are prepared if you get stuck or delayed
For information about gritting routes in the county - Angus Council's Winter Roads Maintenance programme.

- If you are aged 60 or over you may get Winter Fuel Payments to help pay for keeping warm in winter. This can be between £125 and £400 depending on your situation.
