Who can use the landfill site?
Only those customers with an account at the landfill site may dispose of their commercial waste there. Customers using the site have a legal Duty of Care (215 KB PDF) Opens in a new window 
and must therefore present a Transfer Note, which gives details of the nature of the waste, where it originated from and final disposal etc. A business who transports waste to the landfill site is likely to require to register as a Waste Carrier with the Scottish Protection Agency (SEPA); where appropriate you will be required to provide your registered waste carriers number.
Please note, the site is not suitable for small vehicles.
How do I set up an account?
You may set up an account on your first visit to the landfill site, or before. You will need to bring some company paperwork i.e. a letterhead showing contact details. If required, a sample Transfer Note can be obtained from the site as a courtesy.
Please allow fifteen minutes to go through paperwork on the first visit.
When is the landfill site open?
Monday to Thursday: 07.30 - 12.00, 12.30 - 15.00
Friday: 07.30 - 12.00, 12.30 - 14.00
Open on all public holidays except Christmas and New Year.
How much does waste disposal cost?
Waste disposal is charged per tonne (a weighbridge is in operation). Charges are as follows below; for an explanation of those materials that qualify to be charged at the reduced rate of landfill tax i.e. inactive wastes, please see the Landfill Tax (Qualifying Material) Order 2011.
Active Waste (Biodegradable eg. wood, plastics, food, top-soil, etc.)
- Tipping charge - £32.08 per tonne
Landfill Tax - £72.00 per tonne
+ VAT @ 20%
Inactive Waste (Non-biodegradable eg. stone, sub-soil, etc.)
- Tipping charge - £6.58 per tonne
Landfill Tax - £2.50 per tonne
+ VAT @ 20%
Green Waste
- Tipping charge - £32.08 per tonne
+ VAT @ 20%
How does billing work?
Billing is monthly, and invoices can be paid by post to Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar DD8 1AN, at any bank (may be charges), or in person at ACCESS offices. Advice on how to pay is given on the back of invoices, but if you have any queries please contact ACCESSLine 08452 777 778.
