Town Halls Hire

The halls may be hired by organisations and individuals for theatrical productions, events, exhibitions, meetings, sports use and functions such as wedding receptions.

There are also a number of village halls available for hire throughout Angus.

Arbroath Webster Theatre, library and museum hire is handled by the Neighbourhood Services department.

Charges will be applied on the basis of maximum cost recovery for:

Admininistration charge for supply of staff:

Lets can be accepted for Christmas Eve into Christmas Day and Hogmanay into New Year's Day - staff costs during the day will be as normal but staff costs between 5pm - 2am will be charged at full recovery cost at triple time.

No lets will be taken that commence on either Christmas Day or New Year's Day.

Lets can be accepted for other Public Holidays - staff costs will be charged at the full recovery cost at double time.

What is the seating capacity for each venue?

The seating capacities vary depending on the type of function and it would be best to check the details prior to any booking being made as to the suitability of the venue for the hire purpose. As a guideline, a few of the most common uses and maximum capacities are noted below.

Can I make provisional bookings?

No. Unfortunately the council is unable to accept provisional or 'pencil' bookings. A booking can only be considered final after the submission of a completed booking form, our written confirmation of the booking and, where appropriate, payment of the deposit.

Can the halls be hired for events such as wedding receptions, dances and dinners?

Yes. All of our halls are regularly used for this type of function and are able to accommodate most seating, catering and bar facility requirements.
