Country Parks
The county of Angus is fortunate to have several Country Parks within its boundaries. These are located at Monikie, Crombie and Forfar Loch, and are manned by the Angus Ranger Service who have established bases at these locations. The Ranger Service also have bases in the Angus Glens and at Montrose Basin.

How do I get there?

Crombie
From the A92, exit via Muirdrum onto the B9128, signposted to Forfar. After about 2½ miles turn left at the Crombie crossroads onto the B961, signposted to Newbigging. The entrance to the Park is about ½ mile on your right.
From Forfar take the B9128 signposted to Carnoustie and after about 10 miles turn right at the Crombie crossroads onto the B961, signposted to Newbigging. The entrance to the Park is about ½ mile on your right.
Forfar Loch
The Country Park is located to the west of the town and is accessed from Craig 'O' Loch Road.
Monikie
Take the A92 and exit at the Ardestie slip road onto the B962 signposted to Monikie Country Park. About a mile beyond Newbigging, turn left onto the unclassified road then follow the signs to the Park.
From Forfar take the B9128 signposted to Carnoustie. After about 10 miles turn right at the Crombie crossroads onto the B961, then follow the signs to the Park.
Glen Doll
At Kirriemuir take the B955 road to the Glens.
Montrose Basin
The SWT (Scottish Wildlife Trust) Visitor Centre is located one mile south of Montrose on the A92 and is well signposted. Angus Council works in partnership at the Basin with Scottish Wildlife Trust.
The SWT Visitor Centre opens at 10.30am.
What Watersport activities are available, where can I take part and what is the cost?
Watersports are available at Monikie Country Park from May to September.
Private craft can launch all year round (weather permitting). Day and seasonal permits are available from reception.

How much are the parking charges at Crombie and Monikie?
Parking charges apply from first weekend in April or Easter weekend, whichever is the earliest, to 30 September ONLY. Outwith this time parking is free.
