Club Development - Angus Club Excellence (ACE)
Angus Club Excellence Awards (ACE) is a club accreditation scheme which has been developed by Angus Council, to allow the public to recognise safe, effective and child-friendly club environments.
The ACE awards have three stages to allow the sports clubs of Angus to work up through the levels with the aim of achieving the highest standard from Bronze (660 KB PDF) through Silver (220 KB PDF) and onto Gold (400 KB PDF).
The process is very simple and support and resources are available through Angus Council Sports Development Team to help all clubs through all aspects of the scheme.
For more information on the ACE awards and the criteria for each of the three levels please see the introduction form (610 KB PDF).
All clubs interested in achieving ACE club status can complete and return the self assessment form (300 KB PDF) and then a joint decision is made between the club and the Development Officer to agree which level of award that the club should initially aim to achieve.
All coaches from ACE clubs should be members of the Angus Coaches Complimentary Support Scheme (ACCESS). This scheme is designed to offer registered coaches and club helpers grant aid assistance for National Governing Body qualifications.

What is the Angus Club Excellence Award (ACE)?
Angus Council has developed our club accreditation scheme, to allow the public to recognise safe, effective and child-friendly club environments.
The scheme takes into account council letting conditions and child protection legislation, giving the club the support necessary to take up best practice.
The ACE award has three stages to allow the smaller clubs of Angus to work up through the levels with the aim of achieving the highest standard. Each award has its own benefits such as free places on courses and raising the profile of your club in the local community.
The process is very simple with support and resources being made available throughout from the Sports Development unit. If your club has already gained a National Governing Body Accreditation, then gaining your ACE award should be relatively simple.
