Angus Sports Council
Following a consultation process it was unanimously voted by those who attended the recent Special General Meeting of Angus Sports Council to dissolve the organisation - therefore your club/organisation can no longer affiliate to Angus Sports Council.
Angus Sports Council was originally set up to act as a voice for the voluntary sporting sector in Angus and worked alongside clubs, sportscotland and Angus Council to develop and promote sport in the county. However, it was recognised that clubs now have more contact with Angus Council and Scottish Governing Bodies of Sport with regard to relevant sporting topics than with Angus Sports Council.
A new system is currently being put into place to ensure that we maintain communication links with local clubs and club discounted rates at our leisure facilities can continue - this will more than likely link to our existing Angus Club Excellence (ACE) club development scheme which to allow the public to recognise safe, effective and child-friendly club environments.
