Angus Liftshare

As a member of TACTRAN (Tayside and Central Regional Transport Partnership) the council has joined the national car sharing company called Liftshare. Now that all the local authorities in TACRAN have joined Liftshare it makes sense for Angus Council to follow suit so that people living and working in Angus and the surrounding area can take advantage of the opportunity to car share and save money whilst helping the environment at the same time - you don't even have to own a car to join. For example, someone living in Angus but working in Dundee can find a match through Liftshare.

Car sharing is ideal for the region, with many people commuting to these areas for work and leisure purposes and with so many rural towns and villages in this area, implementing a car sharing database and website was a natural choice to increase travel choice for people.

Liftshare is a web-based secure system whereby people register their details online and any matches are emailed back to them. Only the user's nickname and journey details are shown to the public and once registered the company send the user an activation code.

Registering with Liftshare is free and more information can be found on www.angusliftshare.com However, some frequently asked questions about car sharing are listed below for your information or contact:
