Angus Council Social Work Criminal Justice Service is subject to the National Outcomes and Standards for the Social Work Services in the Criminal Justice System, which define the content and quality of services to be provided.

The work of the Angus Council Social Work Criminal Justice Service includes providing reports to Court to assist them in sentencing decisions, the supervision of offenders on community based sentences and also those offenders released on supervision licence from prison. Offenders may undertake unpaid work in the local community or complete an individual or groupwork programme designed to tackle the things which lead to their offending.
