Roads

If you are out and about during adverse weather please bear in mind that the council cannot clear all routes at all times, so please take account of weather conditions and drive appropriately. Drivers are reminded that even treated roads may be prone to icing during periods of cold weather, as salt is less effective when there is intermittent rainfall or when temperatures fall below -5°C.

Schools and School Transport

Schools in Angus are closed for the Easter holidays.

Grit Bins

There are around 600 grit bins provided across Angus. If your grit bin needs to be topped up please call ACCESSLine on 08452 777 778 and this will be done when resources become available. This grit/salt mixture should only be used on public pavements and roads, not on driveways or paths.

Good Neighbours

If you have an older or less mobile relative, friend or neighbour please keep in contact with them in periods of severe weather to ensure they are all right. They may appreciate some help with shopping etc during any spells of severe winter weather, so let them know you are willing to help. Family and friends are urged to keep in touch with elderly people to ensure their wellbeing.

You may be entitled to additional financial benefits during spells of particularly cold weather.
