Ready for Winter?

Ready Angus

Are you ready for winter? It's something we all need to do, and it takes only a few simple steps.

Last year's prolonged winter weather affected much of Scotland, and the national Ready for Winter? campaign aims to make us better prepared for whatever this season brings.

Angus Council and its partners are supporting the national campaign, by planning ahead to protect services in the county during severe weather.

We can all make life easier for our families and communities in the event of a cold snap by undertaking some basic steps to be prepared at home, at work, and while travelling.

There's a wealth of information available to help householders and businesses so it's worth taking the time now to get some top weather tips.

By being better prepared and taking a few simple steps the whole community can get ready for winter now.

Ready Scotland

The Scottish Government has lots of helpful information on preparing for winter at home and while travelling on its website at www.readyscotland.org.

In extreme conditions such as those experienced last year, everyday life can be disrupted and the council will issue information through the Winter Watch pages on its website.

We'll also keep you informed through Facebook and Twitter, so it's worth signing up to like/follow us on these sites now.

The council's winter maintenance programme, sets out how we will treat roads and pavements during periods of bad weather.
