Planning for the future
Our vision for the future is that Angus is a great place to live, work and visit.
Community plan 2017-30 (LOIP)
Under the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 we are required to develop locality plans for places where people experience inequalities. In Angus we decided on four locality plans to cover the whole county:
- Arbroath Locality Plan
- Brechin/Montrose Locality Plan
- Carnoustie/Monifieth/Sidlaw Locality Plan
- Forfar/Kirriemuir Locality Plan
so that everyone has the opportunity to get involved in shaping their own community. Consultation and engagement over the past three years, and a review of data available at a local level, has identified areas for action in each locality. We will target our efforts and resources to where they will have the most impact on combating the effects of poverty and inequality. Although a locality covers a wide area, specific actions will be targeted to much smaller neighbourhoods.
Your community needs you
We want to make sure that the services that are delivered in your community are the ones that are really needed and wanted. By services, we don’t just mean council services but ones from all our community planning partners. We hold locality planning partnership meetings where the partners are there to listen to what local people want. Have a look at what's been happening so far in your area:
This is your opportunity to help shape the future services of Angus Council. We value your opinions and greatly appreciate your input to help us plan for the future. You can share with us by taking part in short questionnaires, group discussions or telephone surveys. We will not contact you any more than two times per year and only by the methods you choose. We want to hear from citizens of all ages and experiences.
