Angus Women's Aid referral privacy notice

What we need and why

The council is the ‘Data Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect personal data about you which we need in order to make your referral to Angus Women’s Aid.  This may include your name, address, contact details, NI number, date of birth, medical information and information about your personal circumstances.  You are confirming that all individuals referred to in the referral have consented to such use of their information.

What we do with it

The council maintains data protection controls in line with the General Data Protection Regulation, other data protection legislation and its own Information Security Policy to ensure the effective and secure processing of your personal information. The council may check information provided by you, or information about you with other information held by the council’s Housing, Finance, Social Work and other council services in order to check its accuracy, prevent and detect crime, protect public funds or where required by law.  You specifically agree that we may contact other services within the council to process your request in the above manner.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal information for the duration of one month once the referral has been made to Angus Women’s Aid.  When one month has passed we will securely destroy your information.  

Who we share your information with

The information provided on your referral form will be shared with Angus Women’s Aid in order that they can provide you with the necessary support.  We will not share your information with any other organisations unless required to do so by law or in order to prevent or detect crime or fraud.
