The recommendations from the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland’s Fifth Statutory Review of Electoral Arrangements were approved by Scottish Ministers on 14 September 2016.

As a result of these recommendations a review of polling districts and the provision of polling places within the affected wards have now been reviewed. In addition, due to the closure of a polling venue in Brechin, a review of the polling arrangements in Brechin was also undertaken.

The review commenced on 26 October 2016 with a public consultation exercise. The closing date for submissions was 23 November 2016. The Returning Officer received no representations during the public consultation period.

The recommendations in the consultation document were submitted to and approved by Angus Council on 8 December 2016.

Following conclusion of the review certain persons have the right to make representations to the Electoral Commission – please refer to the appeals process below for more information.
