Making a request for information from an associated organisation

Some local government activities are delivered by organisations associated with the council.

Some of these organisations are separate public bodies which are governed by one or more council.

The council does not deal with information requests relating to these organisations. You must approach these organisations directly.

ANGUSalive

From 1 December 2015, Angus Council transferred all its culture and leisure services, and staff, to a charitable trust called ANGUSalive

Libraries, museums, galleries, archives, sport and leisure facilities, country parks, the Webster Memorial Theatre and community halls are managed by the trust. 

It is a company limited by guarantee incorporated under the Companies Acts and the sole member is Angus Council. It has a trading subsidiary called Angus CLT (Trading) Limited which is wholly owned by ANGUSalive,  Both companies are run by boards who are a combination of independent directors and councillors of Angus Council.  

Angus Licensing Board

The licensing board administers all licensed premises within the Angus area. It deals with applications for public house, hotels and other alcoholic liquor licences as well as applications for premises licences and permissions in relation to gambling.

Tayside Contracts

The day to day functions of Tayside Contracts, which is a commercial trading organisation of Angus, Dundee City and Perth and Kinross Councils, are the responsibility of its managing director. 

 Information it publishes is available from the Dundee City Council publication scheme.  

The overall governance of Tayside Contracts is the responsibility of a joint committee with:

  • five elected members from Angus Council
  • six elected members from Dundee City Council 
  • seven elected members from Perth & Kinross Council 

The joint committee does not have its own publication scheme, but information which it publishes is available on the Tayside Contracts website.

Angus Community Planning Partnership

The Angus Community Planning Partnership is a partnership made up of members of the key public service delivery agencies.

Angus Community Care Charitable Trust

The Angus Community Care Charitable Trust was established in 1998 as limited company and registered Scottish charity, with support from its funding partners: Angus Council, Scottish Homes and Tayside Health Board.

It has a wide remit, to develop and provide housing, services and facilities for care in the community. The trust has a board of ten directors drawn from the voluntary and business sectors, Angus Council and the health professions.

The trust owns and operates properties at nine locations across Angus, the day to day running of which are delegated to the council.

Angus Health and Social Care

The Angus Health and Social Care Partnership plans and co-ordinates all adult health and social care services in Angus. For more information visit our Angus Health and Social Care Partnership pages.

Other Organisations

Other organisations deliver council services or work alongside the council but are not wholly owned by the council, or by a group of councils.

Examples include local leisure companies, charitable trusts, or public private partnerships. These organisations are not covered by Freedom of Information.
