By law you have the right of access to all recorded information held by us. Anyone can use this right and information can only be withheld if allowed under Freedom of Information/Environmental Information Request (FOI/EIR), as prohibited by statute.
Like all Scottish local authorities, we maintain a publication scheme setting out the types of information that we routinely make available.
This ensures that published information held by us is open, accountable and transparent at all times.
We have adopted the Scottish Information Commissioner's single Model Publication Scheme 2013 in its entirety.
To request a hard copy of the information published under the scheme or make an appointment to inspect it at our offices, please contact us via ACCESSLine on 03452 777 778.
Where information is not published under the scheme, you can request it from us by making a request for information online.
Alternatively you can write to Freedom of Information Officer, Angus Council, Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar, DD8 1AN.
You can find useful guidance on how to make a request, and what our legal obligations are on our Freedom of Information pages.
If a document contains information that is exempt under Scotland’s FOI laws (for example sensitive personal information or a trade secret), we may remove or redact the information before releasing it to you, but we will explain why.
