A tenancy which began before 1 December 2017 can be ended by different methods:
- serving a Notice to Quit, Notice of Intention to Raise Proceedings and a Section 33 Notice to end the tenancy at the end of the tenancy agreement
- giving a written notice to end the tenancy at the end of the tenancy agreement to your tenant
- you both agree to end the tenancy at a set date
- your tenant breaks the conditions of their agreement, and you seek possession of their tenancy
You should agree with the outgoing tenant to carry out an inspection on the property and to explain that if any damages have been done that the deposit will be used for this, if it is needed.
You must comply with Section 11 of the Homelessness etc (Scotland) Act 2003, telling us when court proceedings are raised to evict a tenant.
