2018 – The Year of Young People

Published on Friday 28 December 2018

We want to send out a big thank you to all our young people in Angus for their efforts during 2018 – the Year of Young People.

YoYP 2018 has been aimed at inspiring Scotland through its young people, celebrating their achievements, valuing their contribution to communities and creating new opportunities for them to shine locally, nationally and on the international stage.

Leader of Angus Council, Cllr David Fairweather said: “We’re very proud of the full part that young people of Angus have played throughout YoYP 2018, through their many contributions and achievements.

“From volunteering in their schools, youth centres and community, to achievements in sport and creativity, our young people right across the county should feel very proud of their contributions.”

In 2018, a group of young people developed a Youth Engagement strategy with a range of partners from public and third sector. This strategy will give Angus a legacy of working with young people beyond 2018 to ensure that young people have influence over services and a voice in their communities.
