A statement by the Angus Chief Officers Group for Public Protection on publication of the Commission for Independent Assurance and Performance Support – Angus Significant Case Review Improvement Plan for P19 Final Report:

“The Angus Chief Officers Group (COG) welcomes the publication of this independent assurance and improvement support commission report by Health Improvement Scotland and the Care Inspectorate.

“It rightly highlights the willingness of local partners to see improvement and embed change across all agencies; the progress already made; and the positive impact of our appropriate and effective local strategic leadership. We will take into account the feedback and suggestions offered by the joint assurance team as we continue to progress this important work.

“We were pleased that the issue of human rights was specifically recognised by the joint assurance team and that it has been a constant consideration during our improvement work.

“We remain determined to deliver on the recommendations made in the Significant Case Review that followed P19’s tragic death to ensure that the care and anticipatory care of a vulnerable adult is always undertaken in a holistic, person-centred way.

“All members of the Angus COG and Angus Adult Protection Committee are steadfast in their commitment to delivering the improvements we have collectively identified as necessary to improve services to the people of Angus.”
