Angus Virtual School wins General Teaching Council Scotland Excellence in Professional Learning Award

Angus Virtual School (AVS) is celebrating success after winning a General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS) Excellence in Professional Learning Award at their national award ceremony on Thursday 26 September 2019.

The prestigious awards ceremony held at The Crowne Plaza, Glasgow and hosted by TV presenter Dougie Vipond celebrates and recognises the commitment to high quality professional learning and leadership at all levels.

AVS is a local improvement collaborative. AVS colleagues work primarily alongside schools supporting improvement in all areas of practice. Supporting school leaders and teachers to flourish and bring about sustained positive impact on learning and learners.

Leila Martin, Head Teacher of the AVS said: “I’m delighted AVS has received this esteemed award for the work it is doing across Angus to support the development of system leadership and head teacher empowerment. It highlights our commitment to make sure everyone receives the high quality professional learning and leadership needed to help transform lives and learning.”
