We're making some changes to our phone systems that will affect how you contact us. The changes are taking place as part of the streamlining of our services. The changes will result in an improved contact with the council.
This the first phase of the council’s programme to establish a new One Contact Centre. More services will be moving to ACCESSLine throughout 2018.
From Wednesday 16 May, ACCESSLine will deal with enquiries and route calls to relevant members of staff for the following services:
- Council tax
- Housing benefit
- Council tax reduction
- Concerns about a child
- Discretionary Housing Payment
- Free school meals
- School clothing grants
- Education maintenance allowance
- Council tax arrears
- Scottish Welfare Fund enquiries
- Business Rates enquiries and payments
- Financial assessments for care charges
The ACCESSLine telephone number is: 03452 777 778.
Residents are asked to no longer use the Revenues and Benefits telephone numbers: 01241 438400, 01241 438401, 01241 438402, 01241 438403, 01241 435064.
Access at a time that is convenient
All of these services are available on our website which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our online systems puts residents in control of council services, where ever they are, whenever they need them.
Residents who have access to use online services are encouraged to do so, as it also reduces call waiting times for those who need to speak to our customer services teams and helps us to keep transaction costs to a minimum.
At the same time, the council is removing the geographical telephone number 01307 461460. All calls to this number are asked to redial to ACCESSLine.
