Exam results are in…

Published on Tuesday 7 August 2018

Best wishes to all our young people receiving their SQA exam results today (Tuesday 7 August).  Early analysis of performance against expectation is underway across Angus’ eight secondary schools.

We are looking forward to the first release of data in the INSIGHT update in September 2018.  Importantly this includes all achievement in the SCQF framework, for example Foundation Apprenticeships, as well as other qualifications gained in partnership with Dundee and Angus College.

Children and Learning convener, Councillor Derek Wann said: “Our young people have worked hard for their achievements.  This has been done in partnership with their families and with the support of dedicated school staff.

“We will continue to work with each young person to ensure that the three year senior phase allows them to gain the most appropriate group of qualifications for them.”

All candidates will receive their results by post today (Tuesday 7 August). Candidates who have activated their MySQA accounts, will also receive their results by text.

Skills Development Scotland’s Exam Results Helpline is open from 8am - 8pm on 7 and 8 August and from 9am -5pm from 9 August until 15 August.

The number to call is 0808 100 8000.  Qualified careers advisers are on hand to help young people who have done better than anticipated or who may not have received the results they were hoping for.

A recent report on attainment outcomes for Angus young people in S4-S6 in 2016-17 showed attainment had been maintained or improved across almost all indicators. Our performance in literacy and numeracy continued to be better than the virtual comparators and national results.
