Family pandemic payment – Winter 2021
Arrangements are in place for ‘Scottish Child Payment’ to be made to eligible families during the week of 20 December 2021.
A payment of £160 will be made for each eligible child or young person in P1-S6, attending an Angus Council school. You will receive a payment if you have a child in:
- P1-P4 who is eligible for school clothing grant.
- P5-S6 who was registered for free school meals on 20 December 2021.
Payments are expected to be in bank accounts on, or around Wednesday 22 December 2021.
If you register for free school meals between 21 December 2021 and 22 December 2021, you will receive your payment at the end of January. Registrations after this date are not eligible for the payment.
Pre-school aged children are not eligible for this payment. However, the Scottish Child Payment may be available for those with children under the age of 6. To find out more and apply please go to the My Gov Scottish Child Payment webpage.

December holiday free school meal direct payments
Families who qualify for free school meals based on financial criteria will receive a single ‘Direct Payment’ of £26.40 to cover the December holiday period. This will be in bank accounts on, or around, Wednesday 22 December 2021.
You will receive a payment if you have a child currently in:
- P1-P4 who is in receipt of school clothing grant.
- P5-S6 who is in receipt of free school meals during term time.
Arrangements are in place for free school meals payments of £26.40 to be made to families who become eligible for free school meals or school clothing grant during the holidays.
