Whitehills Primary School’s car park will remain off-limits at drop-off and pick-up times as a trial aimed at improving child safety continues.
The trial, which started at the school in Forfar on Monday 2 September, has been extended until Friday 1 November. This is to allow full assessment of the trial before it is discussed at the next local Traffic Coordination Group.
Instigated at the request of the Whitehills Parent Partnership Group, the gates have been closed between 8.45am and 9.15am and 3pm to 3.30pm (Mon-Fri) as part of an initiative that aims to raise awareness about travelling safely to school.
Anyone taking a child to Whitehills Primary School, or who collects them in the afternoon has been asked to re-assess their travel plans – to walk where and when they can, or “Park and Stride” by parking a distance from school and walking the remainder.
