A new online jobs portal – Angus Job Search – has been launched by Angus Council, to link people who are unemployed or under threat of redundancy as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19, to job opportunities.
It can also be used to match people to volunteering opportunities and placement.
The portal is free of charge for both employers and clients and will remain in place whilst employment support is being provided to people impacted by the current situation. This is estimated to be between 12 – 18 months or longer.
Angus Council, Economic Development spokesperson Cllr Braden Davy said, “This new approach is a welcome addition to the council’s support for businesses as our economy emerges from lockdown. This means we can match business labour needs with available people and hopefully help people back into employment.
“These are difficult times for our businesses but our recent COVID survey responses highlighted that in some sectors there are recruitment opportunities and significant interest in using a service like this.”
Employers in Angus are invited to register any vacancies within their business on to the Angus Job Search portal to be viewed by clients who may wish to apply.
The portal is available to view at https://jobs.investinangus.com where businesses can easily upload any current vacancies.
