Parking and enforcement

Paying to park in Angus Council’s off-street car parks continues to be free of charge.

Paying to park was suspended following the introduction of the first COVID019 lockdown a year ago. As measures to lift restrictions come into effect – the message to Stay at Home changes to Stay Local from Friday 2 April – off-street parking will continue to be free.

Full Council agreed that parking would remain free at least for the duration of the financial year 1 April 2021- to 31 March 2022.

That is free for up to four hours in short stay car parks and free all day in long stay car parks (limited to 72 hours).

Recent enforcement of off and on-street parking has focused on inconsiderate and obstructive parking to ensure safety, accessibility and effective traffic flow.

From Monday (22 March), on-street parking bay enforcement will return to normal and contraventions of 30-minute time restrictions will be enforced.
