Road resurfacing – Hill Street, Arbroath

Published on Tuesday 22 September 2020

Roadworks are set to begin in Arbroath’s Hill Street this Friday (25 Sep).

The first phase of work, lasting one day, will remove two speed cushions and be managed by a managed lane closure. No on-street parking will be allowed in the immediate area.

Resurfacing work will start from Sunday 27 September. This work will affect traffic and pedestrian movement for approximately one week (weather permitting), with the road closed and no on-street parking available.

Access to properties will be maintained via the Hill Street-High Street car park entrance as the junctions at Hill Place and High Street are being resurfaced. There may be some delay gaining access if works are ongoing across the entrance.

Residents in Hill Place and Hill Terrace should access via Kirk Square and the existing one-way order will be replaced to allow two-way traffic and exiting onto Kirk Square.

Residents in West Newgate should gain access via Hill Road.

Local diversions will be via Stanley Street – Burnside Drive and Ladybridge Street.

Information signs will be in place locally and residents have been notified accordingly.

Pedestrian access will be maintained with barriers placed around the ongoing work.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation during this necessary work.
