Roadworks next week at Forfar’s East High Street and Arbroath Road

Published on Monday 6 September 2021

Roadworks will be carried out next week in Forfar.

On Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 September*, East High Street will be closed while the road is resurfaced at East Port lights, between Brander Ha’ and the junction of North Street and South Street. A diversion will be via South Street and South Street.

Further work will take place in three to four weeks’ time, placing of road markings and high friction surface installation, that will require a temporary west bound lane closure.

From Tuesday 14 September to Thursday 16 September roadworks will also be carried out on the east side of Arbroath Road, from the bus stop southwards opposite Strang Street. This will be carried out with assistance of a three-way traffic light system.

No on-street parking will be available in the specified area while work is undertaken and access to properties will be extremely limited. Pedestrian access will not be affected.

Public notices will be posted at affected bus stops to inform of any service changes and alternative stop locations.

We thank you in advance for your patience and co-operation during this necessary work. Anyone who requires further information can contact Road Asset Management on 01307 492338.

*Update - Mon 13 Sep - Due to circumstances beyond Angus Council's control, the two days of work at East High Street will be delayed by one day and not now begin until Tuesday. Work at Arbroath Road will progress as planned. Apologies for any inconvenience.
