Scottish Child Bridging Payment 

The Scottish Child Bridging Payment of £260 will be made for each eligible child or young person in P1-S6, attending an Angus Council school, if you meet the criteria of having a child in

  • P1-P5 who is eligible and in receipt of school clothing grant.
  • P6-S6 who was in receipt of free school meals between 30 November 2022 and 20 December 2022.

Payments are expected to be in bank accounts on, or around Friday 23 December 2022.

If you register for free school meals between 21 December 2022 and 23 December 2022, you will receive your payment mid-January 2023. Registrations after 23 December 2022 are not eligible for the payment.

Pre-school aged children are not eligible for this payment. The Scottish Child Payment may be available for children under the age of 6. To find out more and apply please visit the Scottish Child Payment website.

Winter holiday free school meal payment

Families who qualify for free school meals based on financial criteria will receive a single payment of £22 to cover the holiday period. This payment will be in bank accounts on, or around, Friday 23 December 2022 if you meet the criteria of having a child currently in:

  • P1-P5 who is in receipt of school clothing grant.
  • P6-S6 who is in receipt of free school meals during term time.

Arrangements are in place for free school meals payments of £22 to be made to families who become eligible for free school meals or school clothing grant during the holidays.
