Scottish child payment

We'll be paying the Scottish child payment (bridging payment) to eligible families during the week commencing 28 March 2022. This is a payment of £130 for each eligible child or young person in P1-S6, attending an Angus Council school. You will receive a payment if you have a child in:

  • P1-P5 who is eligible for school clothing grant
  • P6-S6 who was registered for free school meals between 2 February 2022 and 29 March 2022.

Payments are expected to be in bank accounts on, or around Friday 1 April 2022.

If you register for free school meals between 30 March 2022 and 1 April 2022, you will receive your payment at the end of April. Registrations after this date are not eligible for the payment.

Pre-school aged children are not eligible for this payment. The Scottish Child Payment may be available for children under the age of 6. To find out more and apply please visit the My Gov Scot website.

If you are not already in receipt of school clothing grant or free school meals you can check if you are eligible on our website.
