Published on Friday 26 January 2018

We are holding a public drop-in event on Wednesday (31 Jan) at Arbroath Academy, where details of the proposed designs for a shared campus for Hayshead and St Thomas primary schools will be on show.

Arbroath Schools Project team members will also be available to discuss the proposals.

Our Children & Learning committee agreed proposals for the development of a new £14.5 million campus for Hayshead and St Thomas Primary schools at their meeting on 7 November, as well as an early years facility on playing fields at Hayshead Primary School, St Abb’s Road, Arbroath. DD11 5AB.

Due to the size and nature of the proposed development, a pre-application phase of the planning process is required. All interested parties are invited to come along to the drop in event at Arbroath Academy, Glenisla Drive, DD11 5JD, on Wednesday (31 Jan) will be from 4.30pm to 8pm.

If you are unable to drop-in at the event, you can still comment by writing to the Strategic Director – Children and Learning, Angus Council, Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar, DD8 1AE, or by completing our online survey within 14 days of the public event.

All representations must be sent to Angus Council Children & Learning (not Angus Council Planning Authority). There will be an opportunity to make representations to Angus Council Planning Authority once a formal Planning Application is made.

This phase of the Arbroath Schools Project also includes the replacement of Ladyloan and Muirfield primary schools, at a cost of £8.8 and £8.6 million respectively. The £12.6 million first phase of the project saw the creation of new school buildings for children at Warddykes and Timmergreens primaries.
