Shop local this Christmas

From seasonal essentials to the must buy gift for that special someone, Angus has everything you need to make it a perfect Christmas this year.

Shop local

The county’s towns and villages are very much open for business now and throughout the festive season, offering the perfect opportunity to shop local.

And with free parking in all Angus Council car parks and parking free for up to 60 minutes on-street, now live, there has never been a better time to come off-line and take to our High Streets and local shopping areas.

Communities and Finance Convener, Cllr Mark Salmond said: “After a long period of time where our shopping habits have been restricted by Covid-19 and in many respects re-focused on to the internet, now is the time to browse and to buy local.

“We have a fantastic array of unique independent shops and small businesses in Angus that offer a wide range of fine goods and produce, which is supported by free on and off-street parking.

“Many of our resilient local traders have pulled out all the stops to ensure that after last year’s more muted festive season, our shopping areas are the perfect places to spend time and truly get in the Christmas spirit. I hope that everyone takes a trip to support and shop in their local high streets and shopping centres in Angus.

“There are also a number of Christmas Markets being held in November and December, offering food, drinks, arts and crafts from our superb local businesses and producers. You’ll find full details on the Visit Angus website.

“Getting out and shopping local is a great way to step into Christmas and showing our support for local traders.”
