Important changes at recycling centres in Angus

To ensure public safety at our centres, Angus Council has implemented the following changes:

  • No pedestrian access - this is due to the volume of traffic entering and leaving recycling centres which can make pedestrian access unsafe.
  • No wheeled bins accepted on site - emptying wheeled bins into skips has been identified as an unsafe practice.
  • Restricted access for trailers:

Trailers permitted

(fair use policy - one trailer load per day for trailers over six feet in length)

Arbroath

Montrose

Trailers up to six feet in length permitted

Brechin

Carnoustie

Forfar

Monifieth

No trailers permitted Kirriemuir

You should ensure that you are finished offloading any material before closing time.

We reserve the right to restrict access to any vehicle on a site by site basis, and disposal may be offered by appointment only.

Large or unusual vehicles such as a horse box or motor homes can cause congestion at our sites and fill up skips. To help us manage this, we can offer a convenient time for you to visit the recycling centre. Please call ACCESSLine on 03452 777 778 to arrange.

Our recycling centres are free to use. However, if you use a van to transport your waste, you may be asked to fill out a form declaring the waste to be household, as there is a charge for commercial waste - see the recycling centres - commercial waste page for details.

Each centre has staff who will offer help and advice, however you are responsible for offloading your waste (including bulky or heavy items) and ensuring it is deposited in the appropriate container.
