We are bagging all of our off-street parking meters, taking them temporarily out of use with immediate effect.
This allows us to re-deploy our community enforcement team in support of delivering vital services to our communities.
We will be assessing its impact on other areas of paying to park in Angus, including permits and online payment to ensure that no one is financially disadvantaged.
You can continue to report potholes, street lighting or other road or street issues via MyAngus.
Our out of hours and emergency response teams deal with defects, support to the emergency services and weather impacts such as flooding. If you think the issue is an emergency, call ACCESSLine on 03452 777 778.
Requests for new road markings, to form a new or alter an existing driveway, or a change to speed limits are likely to be delayed so that we can focus our resources on our critical services.
Major projects such as our surface dressing programme for 2020/21, the Arbroath (Brothock Water) Flood Protection Scheme and Arbroath’s Places for Everyone project will also be delayed.
Small teams of essential workers are carrying out critical safety work on our roads. The risks from and to these workers have been assessed. They are socially distancing and obeying all hygiene rules. This work is necessary to keep the roads safe and serviceable for emergency services and the transport of essential food.
Arbroath Harbour remains operational.
Rail services have also been reduced. More information is available from Scotrail.
