The Arbroath scheme is currently ranked nationally as a priority project.
It has been identified as an action under the Flood Risk Management Strategy and is expected to be delivered between 2016 and 2022. More information on the strategy is available on the SEPA website.
Its inclusion in the strategy means it is likely the scheme will receive capital grant funding from the Scottish Government.
The scheme will be promoted under the Flood Risk Management (Scotland) Act 2009. The act allows the council access to private land to construct flood defences.
We will liaise with all affected residents and landowners before any works. Landowners may be eligible for compensation due to the construction works.
